Findhorn, Scotland

Join us for a retreat in the world-renowned Findhorn community. Enjoy this beautiful corner of Scotland, as you learn to communicate with animals and other aspects of nature.

The Findhorn community was founded on the principal of ‘co-creation with nature’. This is the perfect place to learn and practice communicating telepathically with animals and plants. You will even have an opportunity to work in one of the gardens, where these principles are practised every day.

This retreat invites you to leave your schedule behind and step outside any time constraints. To slow down and mindfully connect with nature.  As you rediscover the depth of your kinship with nature, you might also reconnect with a deeper part of yourself.

Join in with community activities including meditation, yoga, dance, singing – all part of the gentle rhythm of community life.  You can walk in the woods, on the dunes, to the bay or on the beach.

The price includes tuition, all course materials, tea/coffee and some snacks, and a celebratory dinner on Friday evening.  Accommodation, transport and meals (apart from Friday dinner) are not included.

LOCATION

Findhorn Ecovillage, The Park, Findhorn, Moray, IV36 3TZ

ACCOMMODATION

There are a number of accommodation options within the community.  Ecovillage Findhorn offers single rooms in a shared house;  Findhorn Bay Caravan Park has chalets, eco cabins, holiday caravans and camping; the Findhorn Hinterland Trust provides wild camping pads; and there are also several B&B options in the community and in the nearby village, including the Findhorn village hostel.

FOOD OPTIONS

Most of the accommodation at The Park has cooking facilities, and you can purchase groceries at the Phoenix community stores, near the entrance of The Park.  You can also choose from the Phoenix cafe in The Park, which does great coffee, cakes, sandwiches, wraps, breakfast and lunch options.  In the Findhorn village there is the Bakehouse cafe, The Kimberley pub, The Crown & Anchor pub and the Captains Table.  The pubs are open for lunch and dinner, and the Captains Table for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

HOW TO GET HERE

The Findhorn ecovillage community can be accessed by road, rail or plane.  Trains especially tend to be cheaper the sooner you book. The nearest airports are Inverness and Aberdeen, and both have rail connections to the nearby town of Forres.  There are also trains to Forres from the cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth.

If you are travelling by train from London, there is a direct train from Kings Cross to Inverness once a day (Tip: it is sometimes cheaper to book the Inverness-Forres ticket separately, rather than as part of your overall journey).

From the station it is a 10-15 minute journey by car to the community.  You can either book a local taxi, or some community members offer (cheaper) station pick-ups.  If you need any help with this or with directions to Findhorn by road, please contact me.
